- love that Connie got Lion in the divorce temporary separation
- I have been waiting 1.9534 million years for another prominent Nanefua episode and I'm very excited that this one did not disappoint
- (also I like of imagine whoever wrote the Mayor Nanefua episode watching election night results from last Tuesday and getting ever smugger about their writing/scheduling)
- I love the new Sadie song so much?? In fact I love it so much I had to stop in the middle of this post and watch it again. "I really ought to be in mourning / but I've got another shift in the morning" all too relatable
- the more I think about it the more I love that Sadie quit her job, not that I have any great hopes for the future of the band but I love that she got to do something as brave and terrifying in its own way as Lars' heroic antics on Homeworld -- the Lars/Sadie Thing has always been a wildly unhealthy relationship founded out of mutual misery and I am very excited for them to both break out of their ruts and grow and become less miserable and then reunite and have to figure out if they even have anything to say to each other as non-miserable people! LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT WEIRDNESS VERY MUCH
- speaking of weird relationships, I may have done a 180 from being mildly annoyed at how little the show showed us of how Peridot and Lapis suddenly became barn wives to appreciating the way "Raising the Barn" illuminated how much we/Steven have not seen/understood of their dynamic, which is always something the show has done very well
- (I love Lapis very much and I love how much the show commits to the long arc of her PTSD but taking the house and all the soap opera DVDs? A LOW BLOW, no wonder Peridot is listening to country music)
- I am ready for all the theories about why Pearl literally can't talk about Homeworld, hit me

I am amused by Tumblr pointing out to me that Lars is now pink and not actually human and running around as part of a space rebellion, and Sadie has left boring daily life and (sort of) Changed Her Name For Rock. Inverse Rose and Greg! Including being the opposite of how functional (and sometimes not) Rose and Greg are, since Lars and Sadie are dysfunctional (and sometimes briefly work).

... I feel like this parallel has to be intentional on the part of the writers, but I haven't the faintest idea why they've done it.

Oh man, I was so busy being entertained by the zombie!Lars::zombie-singer!Sadie that I totally missed the Greg & Rose parallel!

...I also can't think of a reason why they would've done it, though. Unless it's to provide further opportunities for Steven to come to terms with the weird and occasionally troubling choices made by his parents? (Except Greg actually made no particularly troubling choices that I can recall, that one's almost entirely on Rose, sorry Rose.)

The leading Pearl theory I've seen is a literal gag order from White Diamond - who, incidentally, wasn't even officially named until the art book. There's evidence of her in the show in background murals and art, but hasn't yet had her name spoken aloud.

Definitely seems like a gag order by someone, although they might yet pull a surprise and have it be something about Pearl's original programming or a compulsion she put on herself (possibly in line with the 'Pearl killed Pink Diamond' theory).

I still think that if Rose didn't kill Pink Diamond, they'd have told Steven something to that effect. Even if it was something like, "She did terrible things in the name of war, but that wasn't one of them." It'd be too much for Steven otherwise.

But if the show proves me wrong, I'll be happy to find out.

Connie's new 'do is fantastic. And the kindergarten episode is something to keep close, times like these.

Am I alone in having found the band kids' interactions with Sadie a bit oddly callous/oblivious? Might be it's meant to be resolved Later (TM), but this airing schedule is... really something, aha.

Mostly just a feeling, I guess! It seemed like nobody was really checking in with her or offering any help -- the lyrics-advice scene was so absurd I kept waiting for the punchline, but it never really came.
