Jul. 20th, 2020 12:50 amI'd like to point out that is the second week in a row that a blood red murder outfit has carried the costume polls:

I mean I'm not complaining, they're both incredible outfits, but it seems very clear you guys have a Type.
The choices have been moderately restrained recently as the plot ramps up, but this week's penultimate episodes sees Jang Man Wol back in form with no less than eleven outfit selections to choose from!
1.

We only get a quick blip of this Anne of Green Gables homage, which IMO is something of a shame.

I genuinely thought at first glance that her sparkling silver purse was a watering can...in all honesty, it would fit the vibe better.
2.

Another quick-blip outfit, with what I would say is one of the more practical of her nightgown/dressing-gown combos.

I like the pattern, I like the sleeves, I am slightly concerned that that might be a fur lining, which does NOT sound appealing in the ninety-degree heat in which I currently sit, but I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt on this and not bring my own biases into things.
3.

As a green blouse with white gloves, a cute fat braid, and an adorable button-up neckline, I'm really into this!

As a green blouse with a turquoise belted skirt, I'm ... slightly more dubious. If the skirt were a few shades darker or the top a few shades lighter, this would be great, but I feel with this one Jang Man Wol has made the rare misstep of wandering into the realm of the color clash.
4.

Oh, speaking of playing to my biases ...

Yes, that's right: it's completely gratuitous Joseon-era crossdresssing! in festive purple, no less!! just for me!!!

I'm sorry I took a million screencaps of what is honestly a fairly standard-era Joseon scholar's outfit, I'm just really happy right now.
5.

Okay anyway! Back to dressing gowns!

I will confess, originally I thought this one was a bit boring ...

... and then she turned around. Check those festive sunflowers! Absolutely a statement piece, all the more so because they're completely invisible from the front.
6.

I always enjoy a good Edwardian governess look, and the parti-colored skirt (can you say parti-colored about two different shades of gray?) gives this outfit a high fashion flair that would otherwise be absent.

However, the real winner here is the fact that she clearly chose her hairpiece to subtly complement her gun. It's been fifteen long episodes since she pulled this rifle out, and it's nice to see it again! A great accessory for any outfit.
7.

Okay, so -- it's a great top. It's a festive top. It's a good top for a party.

But it's really the skirt that makes or breaks this outfit, and I think which way it falls is ... very much in the eye of the beholder. You decide!
8.

This is a very cute skater dress and I would never say that it wasn't.

The color is vibrant, the cut is charming -- it's just that if you're putting bright red outfits toe to toe against each other, it's really hard to compete with the one she wore in the previous scene, for sheer drama if nothing else.
9.

At first I thought we were looking at another skirt suit here, and I was perfectly ready to work with that.

But in fact it is a button down dress with a placket front and I ... love it? Look at that silhouette!

They all look so cute and professional! Absolutely no better choice for ghost class photo day.
10.

Not entirely sure if this is a dress or the third dressing gown of the episode, to be honest.

I think dressing gown, probably? Anyway, it's cute! I like the lacy sleeves and the autumnal print.
11.

This dress ... on this dress I am, to be honest, deeply torn.

I like the overall silhouette and design elements, but the fabric looks a little bit like it was crafted out of a rain slicker.
PS: if you have fun with costume poll nonsense and feel like & are able to toss a buck towards the Mass Bail Fund or some other related org when you cast your vote, I encourage! Maybe consider contributing to the bail fund for Portland protestors?

But in an episode without gratuitous cross-dressing, the full Chrestomanci would have had my vote. I liked the green collision until we got to the skirt. I had honestly expected it just to be a dress.
